A medieval stronghold in Mirow. There are many ruins in Jura Upland, Poland, which used to belong to the system of fortified castles on the Polish-Czech borderline in the XIV century. They were built of limestone upon rocky hills and perfectly blended in the landscape.

Wonderful view, Ewa! Can you give me more details about the location? Is it Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska? :)

A wonderful view. Very clever these people were to build these so they blended into the landscape as you say. The element of surprise is always one of the best tactics to thwart the enemy.
Lovely color in your composition.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

At first blush it is a surprise to see this rising out of the greenery in the valley, but a very pleasant one and your angle is perfect for showing off the remaining beauty of this fortification.
