It is a very catchy flame with vibrant colors, but it seems a bit too crisp. Perhaps softening the image or keeping a tighter cap on edge distortion during the rendering process would help. How come you don't upload anymore?

I really think you are right on with the colour gradient and palate here.
My personal take on this is a medieval theme. It may be the 'spikes' that I see, but, factor in the colour scheme and there is a regal touch as well in my eyes. A court of kings, if you will.
Although I do see your title in this, my thoughts would be then to change the colour palate to reflect more of a winter concept. Just ... just a suggestion.
Nice clean lines, good work. Certainly not Apophysis? I think. As that is the program I am aware of and more familar with. Hope you are here more to offer more ... and I look forward to those offerings. :o)
