Hummm... I'm not sure about the subject, leaves in the sun can be interesting, because of the way the light shines through them, but here the background is a too distracting, as it's possible to determine what it is, even being out of focus. When I look at this I automatically want to look at the background more, because it's what dominates in the composition... I think the leaves would have to occupy more than half of the space, and possibly all of it. That's just my opinion anyway.
Maybe this is what it means... The image is labeled "Window to a New Place" Although the new place is the "focus" of the subject it remains somewhat out of focus because it's new and yet unknowm. The leaves are the safety of the "known" and so they are more in focus that the background. This could be really deep and thus misunderstood. I like it. It gave me a good feeling so if I see it in the voting booth it will get a 10 from me. Thanks for sharing!
A slice of suburbia. Something most of us can relate with.
I think what is missing is the element of the unusual. It has a "seen it a million times" feel without that nostalgic reference.
Very good subject matter and something to explore in future shots, but perhaps you might try a newer perspective, different color combination, varying saturation levels. Anything that makes it yours' and yours' alone so that next time you post everybody will know its you.
