...and I am experimenting doing some closer shots. :) Now I need to go look this up because I have forgotten what it is called - and this is in my garden. :) ok I found it - it is orange crocosmia (flowers always have impossible to remember names! lol!)

Very good. I like the "fuzzy"/out of focus background. It looks a lot better in full screen mode too. I read something today that if you are using the "macro" setting (or close-up) you should use a tripod to prevent camera shake. But you do real well here.

Very striking photo Patti. The colors just jump out at you and it's great full screen. I think I would have blurred the background a bit more to let the flowers get their just capture but it's still a beauty. Anita

thanks Anita, I will try that. The fuzzy background happened by accident but I agree it looks better that way - I will play around with it a little in PSP and see what I can come up with.

Another good one, Patti. Such pretty flowers. I found the unopened buds caught my attention more than the open blooms. Something about their structure stood out. Nice composition.

This flower's a new one on me, looks a little like a lily. The color's gorgeous. Might make an interesting shot to duck under and get the full open blossom. Shot like this, though, the stem of blossoms has the same gentle bend as some of the foliage.

We'll just call it pretty Ok Patti?. Hard to remember the "given" name sometimes. I like the color on these. You did a great job of showing them off to us.
