...I bought this statue from a student at a craft fayre and it sits on my fireplace (its about 30cm high). I love it because of the natural shape and because it eminates some kind of feelings - not sure that makes sense, but....I love candles so it holds a candle - I often light a dozen or so candles around the room. I have added some extra lighting to give it a bit more atmosphere. :)

This is a very unusual post, great imagination !!! and the way you've shed some light on that candle and the delicate candleholder is brilliant...no pun intended. I love candles and often do just what you've described...but that's a pleasure I too will reserve for the winter :)PJ

it is cold here today! brrrr! English weather! you can never predict what it will do - just 12 degrees and middle of August - so you can see why I even light them at this time of year. :):)

Very nicely done with a shaft of light cutting through the image. I can see why you like the small sculpture.

hahaha stoned !! Patti, this is truly soothing. I'm having an "Ommmmm" moment :) I can see why you like it and the feeling it gives. On top of that, your framing and enhancements to the scene have added just the right touch. Ommmmm

Very creative. I normally wouldn't like statues for compositions but this one appeals to me. there is a gracefulness and calm about it. Nice work.
No need to thank me for commenting. It was my pleasure.

It just gives off a sense of serenity to me Patti. I love candles too and always have some lit when I'm home. I can see why you enjoy this statue -it's just beautiful.

I like the absence of a face on the statue--seems to send the message that beauty is not of the essence as much as faith (not simply religious, but in yourself and in others). I love these philosophical shots, even if you didn't intend for it to be that way!

Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel. -Josemaria Escriva
