.....well maybe it is because it looks like a vision in your mind - dreamy and cloudy in the distance! ...Mount Untersberg as I saw it from the Mönchsberg hill in Salzburg. How I wish I could have gone up in the cable car - it was down for maintenance until early December ...and when I asked well can I walk up?? they laughed - you could they said but it would take you three hours!!! :#

I think, you would be able to walk three hours for a perfect photo. But you already had this perfect photo. It is so beautiful with the little town in the foreground, and the fog and the giant montain in the background. I am so glad, you do not stop posting all those wonderful pictures. They are in fact a dream.

What I Like About This Composition: 1. It's clarity. Lawdy, this is beautiful. 2. The pastel colors. Nothing brash. 3. The persepctive. What a view. 3. The tall tree and steeple on the left.
Conclusion: This is a keeper. This is simply a perfect capture. Hope I see this in the VB.
Conclusion: Could you walk up there? Shucks! Had there been a pub up there, you would have been there in a New York minute.

just make that 6 to 8 hours, and you will be more close to it Patti, and that is for skilled hikers.
Allthough not asked, i will give you some data about this mountain.
47°42′N 12°59′E , 16 km, 10 miles away from Salzburg. I have seen the mountain up front, you see it from the side here. The mountain was the view Hitler had, looking through his famous big lifting window. It can also be seen, from the top, at the Eagle's Nest in Berchtesgaden, Germany, it is the next mountain there, on the border between Germany and Austria. The top is 1,972 metres (6,469 feet) high.
It has 6 peaks : Berchtesgadener Hochthron: 1972 m, Rauheck: 1892 m, Gamsalpkopf: 1888 m, Salzburger Hochthron: 1853 m, Mitterberg: 1840 m, Geiereck: 1805 m, if you go again to this region, it is well adviced to see it. Thanks for this lovely shot , man oh man, i wish that it was summer again.
