........the title is the inscription and royal motto that appears over the entrance to Edinburgh Castle, which roughly translated means 'no one messes with me and gets away with it'! lol! ...and I doubt they would as the gateway is guarded by the intrepid Robert the Bruce and William Wallace - you can see the statues either side of the door. Patti, This beautiful images lacks for only one thing: the sound of Scottish bagpipes (lol).
I've visited Edinburg many times but was never that lucky that it was during the festivals. Thanks (for sharing) & regards,Cornelius.

not at night Scorp! lol! but yes I did - I walked all around the castle on Thursday afternoon before leaving Edinburgh by train in the evening. :) Lots more photos, so will give some history when I post them.

yes there are guards EJ - you just can't see them! lol! every now and again they appear at the door - I did manage to capture them on another photo! :)

Wonderful nightime shot Patti ... well exposed and extremely clear. With all there is to see in the Castle detail I find I'm fascinated with the two reflections from those torches upon the brickyard ... go figure. LOL

Such a b e a tiful shot here, I love the night essence very dark gothic-like but you have brought out this wonderful structure of architecture........I thought OH MY I SEE EVEN THE STARS but it turned out just to be dust on my monitor......granny needs to do some heavy duty cleaning........Great work!!!!

Great image Patti, I love the way you framed the castle, with the beautiful lights! I've been in the castle too, and it was marvelous, and we were lucky to be there during the festival, with al the artists on the streets, and the royal mile! Fantastic Shot!

What a wonderful capture, I am sitting here waiting for the massed bands to appear out the darkness. I love Edinburgh castle and this has to go in my fave pics of the castle. I promise myself every year I will attend the tattoo and 30 years on still not been. This amazing picture so makes me think of the lone piper. Thanks for sharing this
