.....this tree is so old it has probably been there for ever.... :) ps do you think my title lines beneath the photos are distracting? I have received a couple of comments lately that have criticised them, but I expect that person needs lessons in how to give constructive criticism politely ;) ......please let me know what you think! thanks :) pps taken with my new lens, a Tamron 18-200 just arrived this morning. :)

Wow, what an amazing tree that is. Fabulous capture fogz, and when I go full screen I don't see your title, - ergo doesn't bother me in the least.

Hi Miss Patti. Very good. and no, I don't think that they are distracting. The only problem I have with some of them is that I can't read them on my wide screen monitor. But that is just a minor thing. Keep them coming. ;-)

What a great tree. I would have love climbing on it as a kid. Fantastic shot of it too. And I think it is important, to tell people, how to improve something, as long as it is not harsh. You never ever were harsh to me.

Judging by the stem of the tree, it might be, just a guess, 600 years old at least.
The only way to be certain, would be to cut the tree down and count the rings, but i am sure there are more subtile manors, a lumberjack or a bottanist would know..
You got me interested..... can you give me the name, and the diameter of the tree, i would realy like to find out how old this one is.

The image is great Patti, the tree branches looks like a power lifter size...

Regarding the title lines, they are just great, they are your signature...
Never give critisism on a personal signature would be my advice.
Furthermore, your signs, are kept in the frame of the image, they do not cross the
pictures image, so, if you like, it can be gummed/erased out quiet simple.....

If someone still complains, i think they are just here to steal your image, and want to place it elsewhere, under their own name... they just do not have the skills to remove yours.

Protect your images i'd say.

If I had a swing in it then Cowboy smarty pants up there planted it. LMAO This may well be the best tree I have ever seen, I luv it. Anything that can survive on this planet that long has got to be a creation of God. :) Very nice and NO your title lines don't bother me, even if they did I wouldn't tell you to change it .....that's my problem. :)

OMG, Patti...if you don't know this about me already, I am a tree hugger, and it would take at least 50 *rough estimate* of me to hug that one...I am so glad you sent this pic, my dear. I'd love to be able to stand underneath it and look up into it...I know you couldn't possibly have been able to capture it all...it's on my desktop and in my special Caedes '07 file. I'm in agreement Hans, and if you gather info for him, would you please send it on to me too? WOW..I can't stop looking at it.

I love that tree! It looks like it belongs in a fairytale. It's a splendid image. About your signature Patti, I would say that it belongs to you - artists sign their work. :)

The mighty Chestnut! stands tall and serene!..a line I read somewhere!...
This is a terrific post Patti..and as far as the 'title-line'!..it is a no problem!...I would do that myself..but too lazy?...

A Wonderful tree Patti. A great photo of it, and a great advertisman for the Tamron. In expert hands of course :)
Personally I like your titles, so much so that I have imitated them on a few of my own pictures.
And that my friend, is the highest form of flattery they say :)

OMG, I don't think I've ever see such a massive tree! Wonderfully balanced comp, Patti. And as to your titles, I think they're very tastefully done and add your own special finishing touch.

WOW! pretty much describes this, Patti - it's a magnificent old tree - although having been there forever is maybe a bit of a strech -:). Great image and I love the presentation of only part of the tree. Let's the imagination fill out the rest. Did you know that the oldest living tree is 4,767 years old? I'm betting you do but just in case you can see it here -Methuselah Tree. Beautiful post, Patti - and I see nothing wrong in any way with your use of titles. I don't find them distracting at all, and, in fact, believe they add a bit of you to the image. Just remember, you are the artist here, not them, and you should post your images any way you see fit. I know a two word phrase for the complainers but in deference to you and the rest of the folks of this site I won't use it. Carry on, dudette -

Well, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I suppose the title line could be a slightly smaller font, but quite honestly it's such a minor point compared to this fabulous image that it's just not worth worrying about. If this shot had come up in the VB for me, I would have given it a 10. It's absolutely fantastic, Patti, and it's headed straight for my Favourites. Nuff said? :-)

I can’t add any more compliments to the beautiful photo that somebody else hasn’t said already. But I will chime in on the title discussion. It’s your work and nobody else has a right to tell you how you should or should not do it (unless you ask, of course)!!!
Keep up the excellent work!

I appreciate the extra effort you go to when adding the title line. Not a problem for me. The image is a definite keeper. The new lens was a great suggestion even if it came from the mandroid.
