....the big guy in charge of the herd of deer in Tatton Park, Knutsford! I got as close as I dare (doing my sideways stepping and not really trying to get close to you move lol!) but the photo was more of a silhouette so I have applied some changes to bring him into view ...yes it would have been much better using a tripod and making better adjustments to my camera, but then again you would only have had some grass and trees to look at! LOL!

You did right by not approaching him too close. At this time of the year in particular they are aggressive - crazy with love you could say :) Great shot Patti - Looks like a painting!

How proud and majestic he looks standing here Patti. But I think he's a big softie at heart the way he seems to be protecting the little one here. Excellent capture.

Whadda handsome chap!! Reminds me of...well, me!! 8~P

I don't care for the frame works due to the predominant subject and the already workin' fog in the piece. It kinda pulls the eyes out vs. in...where ya want'em.

Don't look now, but, I think he's gonna score!! *~O

You didn' take this picture, did you? You got it out of Field & Stream magazine. Just kidding. Just trying to express how good it is. I don't hunt like Tick does, so I would just bring a bag of apples and feed them. I also love the framing. Super job.

It's a masterly shot. He looks so regal with his head held proud like that. The mistiness and the way you've exposed the shot are just perfect. He does look like he would have happily seen you off though, I'm glad that sidestepping technique didn't get you into hot water.

As for the antlers up Bob's jack'sie what a thought. That would keep him off the benches for a while eh LOL.

I don't agree with the comments about the frame by the way - I'm not always a fan of very visible frames but I think it makes this shot. You didn't have the best sky to shoot against and the frame compensates for that beautifully.

Patti, I agree with your narrative. To capture such a wonderful scene, a very quick reaction is required as you can't simply say to the deer: 'Say cheese to me.' In that difficult circumstances tou achieved an optimal result. Well done. Regards, Cornelius
