....a gnarly tree standing stark against the blue sky - it may be dead but I was struck by the beauty of the tree in contrast to it's surroundings! .....we are following the path down to the left of the tree and will disappear as we make our way further down to the valley and the river! ....and no! there are no pubs down there!! lol! heading for Three Shires Head where the three counties meet - Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire ...and did you know that Cheshire alone has 12 independent breweries, soo there is bound to be a pub not too far away! ;)

Aaaaaaaahhhhh a tree. I think we both know why it's dead. I too love trees' You are correct about the beauty of it. Nice eye you had to notice. As for the pubs...... Great post and it's in my faves.

Sometimes, things on the other side of the fense are not greener and that realization sometimes comes too late in life. As may be the case for our dear tree. Intentional or not, you have a very symbolic shot, which, may be beautiful to most, or a story with layered possibilities to others. Very nice work, Fogzy!

Excellent! Wonderful lighting and shadows, a great subject and fine composition. A slight nitpick is that I think I would have cloned out the distracting white thingies on the post on the left, but that doesn't detract from rating this very highly.
