.......well I am what I am! - typical male! ;) - a Ferruginous Hawk (thanks for the correction HotRockin - I doesn't know me birds from me birds! :) Photograph taken at the Gauntlet Bird of Prey Centre, Knutsford, Cheshire.
If he was Popeye, he'd say: "I yam, what I yam." He is a handsome devil. You caught him in pensive pose. Probably wondered what you were doing to Jr. I really like this framing. It really comes alive in full screen. Very nice Patti.
Patti,
What a beauty of a shot. The clarity is wonderful and I agree with Tick's comment above regarding the frame, nice choice. Thanks for sharing! - Pam :)

Your editing worked this image very nicely. Patti he is one fine looking bird. No sure what the double inner glow is but it sure turned out good. Sandi♥
MAN!! Your kestrel's are WAY more huge lookin' than what our's are over here!! Our Kestrels are the smallest of raptors across the pond anyway!!
He's a handsome chap for sure!! They don't sit still too much though which lends to some blur in the image...the framing is pretty intense which works to distract the viewer from the slight blur of the photo...so, nice work!!
YOU sure this is a Kestrel?? It's beak is too BIG and it doesn't have anything near the markings I'm used to!! This bad boy looks more like a Ferruginous Hawk (Buteo regalis) of the Accipitridae family!! I'm just curious, sorry!! Was it a really small bird or a really BIG one?? THIS HERE is an American Kestrel...was it like that??

.......well I am what I am! - typical male! ;) Thanks Patti, lol!
Very good image of a proud and mighty 'king'. You've depicted very well that he makes clear to everyone that he is 'the majesty'.
Regards, Cornelius
I agree with you, he really is handsome!!!
I really love the way they look at things. It seems like they are always angry.
This photo has a great clarity too!Well done!
He really is a handsome fella. He almost looks like he's cocked his head on one side too, I reckon he's pretty arrogant. Randy's right there's a bit of blur - presumably because you were handholding on quite a long zoom - but it's counteracted really well by the sharpness of the framing. Marvellous work Ms Fogz.
I think he knows he's handsome by the expression he's got, heh heh! Excellent portrait of him Patti, really like that framing you gave him too :)
