Every time I look at this photo I can't help but think of a family in some respect, hence the name of this post. The flower to the right represents a father standing behind his family watching over them with a strong and silent srength. The bending flower represents a mothers gentle love and protection for her child. Sometimes nature has a subtle way of showing us the things that are the most important doesn't it? Hope you enjoy and feel the same as I do after viewing this.

The simple beauty of the image brought me here from New Images. Then I read your very deep and touching interpretation. You don't play fair Eileen ... tugging at an old mans heart that way. Not fair at all ... now I have little choice but to place this in my favorites. :)

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

In your own poetic way you have reminded me that we all contribute to family life in the ways that we can...drawing on our strengths, no matter where they lie..lovely and thoughtful post on more levels than imaginable.

"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon

I like your poetic interpretation of the flowers. The white is beautifully captured, and it makes a beautiful image. :)

Amazing close up and wonderful white flowers. I guess they are morning glories, though I have never had white ones. Isn't it funny the way we see things as symbols of other things. I guess the whole world is a symbol.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
