This is an attempt to try my new Photoshop CS tools and filters. Although the textures are not new their application is. I would like some feedback on the canvas texture please. Mt. Sopris is not a big mountain. Altitude 12953 feet (3948 meters).Located about halfway between Aspen and Glenwood Springs, Colorado. this mountain is loved by all of the resident of this valley.A unique feature about Mt. Sopris is that it has two summits of equal altitude.

I like! Really makes it look like an oil painting. Only thing missing is the brush strokes. This is not ment to criticize, I like it the way it is. You have outdone yourself, again. I haven't seen one thing you have done, I wouldn't consider among the best.

I love it. I agree with Mowyn it is only missing the brush stokes. It will look nice on my monitor.

It is a beautiful photo even without the added texture. I don't get the white lines that BB did, so it must be a monitor issue. Nice work. Photoshop is fun, isn't it? Sometimes the various textures and other effects are too much - so there is a "Fade" command in the edit menu right after you run an effect. There, you can use a slider to fade the effect until it's just right for you. Another interesting thing to try is to use the fade effect in conjunction with one of the blending modes in that dialog. You can get some very interesting, and quite unusual effects that way. Have a great day!

I think the effect is very nice. The original photo must be spectacular too. I don't get the white lines either, BB, so maybe a new monitor to compliment the new S1. I have done one or two of these on flower shots where they also work out well. Thanks Bob, and Nathan, for the extra tips. They are most helpful.

I am a big fan of textured backgrounds and this is a sheer delight. The color is magnificent and it looks frame ready to me. No lines from my monitor either.

Looks like the Canvas filter is a resounding success. There are some other pictures in your gallery which would really suit this effect as well. Any chance of that happening?

Very interesting and of course beautiful Bob! I prefer the clear crisp shots of these mountains that you give to us, but this will make for an very different type of desktop. It will be a topic of conversation. PS is quite amazing and thank you for the lesons! :))

Annie and I invite you to visit our website. Photography is not a trade - it is an art. It is more that an art. It is a solar phenomenon, where the artist collaborates with the sun. deLamartine 1855

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile. Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

OH MY!!!...this looks like a painting...done in detail...I was trying to figure it out....then I realized you "worked with it" ..its a fantastic idea. I wonder what it would look like if yu printed it that way...its a most beautiful scene too. OH those clouds..I've never forgotten Colorado...

This is really spectacular! I generally don't care a lot for manipulations, but think this is an outstanding treatment of what is a great panorama all by itself.
Thanks for sharing, and if I could cast a vote, it would be 10/10 from me...
