The Osprey chick on the left is half the size of the chick on the right. In the reality of nature, its future is not so bright. Maybe it hatched awhile after the first two eggs. Maybe it has something wrong with it. Maybe as time passes it will catch up with the other two chicks. Ultimately it will play itself out. It has always been this way and will always continue to be this way. Life is precious and should not be wasted. Be happy for all of life's positives and work past it's negatives. We have way more control of our lives than this little Osprey chick has in it's life.

I like how the eye shows up in bigger brother. Poor little runt. I fear for his future. great capture.
P.S. I started out a runt too. Didn't last very long!

A fine capture of the Osprey and chicks, Garrett. All 4 nests i've been watching are empty now. I'll have to wait untill the Ospreys return next summer. Great post

Fascinating glimpse into the life of the nest. For now he stays! Excellent clear details and colors. I like seeing the differences in the three birds. Enjoyed your narrative very much!

Magnificent capture Garrett and the one on the left must not get as much to eat as the other. Wonderful colour and detail on this close up

Really great capture Garret. You are right about the runt of the litter not having the same chance in life but I always believed the runt had the biggest heart.

Thanks Garrett for the commentary about the Osprey. It is a good photo and what you had wrote took me more into the picture. Thanks again, Garrett.

Garrett, I think that runt will grow to be a beautiful bird. I love how alert all three of the birds are - like possibly they heard You make a noise and they went into their safety mode. Great capture.

Magnificent capture, Garrett! Whatever the reason for his smaller size, I'm just glad he's still there :) Beautiful composition and I enjoyed reading your narrative very much! :)
