I caught this Black Crown Night Heron lounging in the sun. When a bird is perched on one leg it is relaxed and in a resting position.

Wow, the focus is indeed great and the target is presented in a great form and position.. but.. the target is not centered and that really chafes away from this, it being so phenomenal otherwise. Harrumpf.. what to vote? :)

A marvelous shot, Garrett! The detail and exposure are superb. However, it's that terrific pose and startlingly red eye that hints at a hidden intelligence and avian wisdom not often seen, except in the imagination of an observant and masterful photographer.

Seeing this reminds me of my trip in Florida, exactly one year ago. It also make me tghink how great it would be if we, a group of enthusiastic Ceades bird photographers, could make a trip together, shooting wildlife and enjoying one anothers company.
