This was an early doors shot in Prague. It's a bit noisy as I had no tripod & therefore had to increase ISO but I quite like the outcome, a bit gothic if you like. I only added the border on photoshop.
Good mood inspiring capture. It must have been taken early in the morning, there is noone around. The scene seems a bit surreal. I like how the lantern light diffuses the mist.
Interesting.
Great photo. It seems a tad grainy, but I'm not sure if that's the photo itself or if it's the mist (maybe a little of both?). Good marks frome me. Keep 'em coming!
I think the extra grain and slight camera shake makes this image more powerful. I don't think it would have caught my eye if it was perfectly clear and crisp. Have you tried it in black and white? Sometimes it can emphasize the mood.
That is incredible. good work. there usually is something one is supposed to say to improve hte image but i think this is ok. i can't think of anything
this is for sure an interesting shot and the grainyness has a good inluence on that.
But in my opinion you wouldn't need that border.
Or it might be less dark and more blurry.
And try out CrazyIvan''s advice and try it out in b/w or sepia as well.
I like the shot as is. In the early morning hours, nothing ever is quite as focussed as in the light of day. The darkened silhouettes of people on the bridege add to the mystique.
The beer urges me on, the bewitching beer, which sets even a wise man to singing and to laughing gently and rouses him up to dance and brings forth words which were better unspoken.
Homer, The Odyssey
(note: beer substituted for wine)
Gothinc indeed. Beautiful city. Beautiful shot. I love it. I'd leave the border off. I don't think it improves things. But I'm giving you high marks on this one.
Heh, well, I used to live in Prague for a long while and, concerning the Charles' Bridge, this almost-nobody-here situation is quite rare... :) You must have taken the picture in more than just an early morning...
It's no surprise so many people have downloaded this, it's a fantastic piece of photography and definitely the standout in an exceptional gallery. Just brilliant.
Interesting.
