Now Gerry it was you that did the capturing, not the camera! ;) The operator is the key person here - am I not right? say 'Yes'! :) and you did a brilliant job again here - beautiful bird and wonderfully sharp photograph! You are quite the expert at capturing these birds closeup. Patti

Of course you did a wonderful job of capturing him, but I am also enjoying the composition here and the placement of yourself and your camera in alignment with the bird..just lovely and the macro is incredible..excellent work and in my faves and in my holiday rotation file as well :)
He looks puffed up with pride at being photographed by an excellent bird photographer and rightly so. I hope he gave you a song, you deserve it.
Great picture
Pretty little finch, precisely focused, unobtrusive background ... I'd say you nailed this one perfectly Gerry ... Love that "King of the Hill" pose you captured. Brilliant photography.
I am in total awe. Your photo is easily one of the most original and solid body
of work I have had the pleasure of seeing recently. The bird stands out great against the dark background. I wonder what was the aperture you have chosen?
Absolutely magnificient!! How you did this I will never know, but you did...so you really ought to get an award..I know of only one photographer on here who got this high a mark...And the thing is, even if that werent important? WE all love your shot...and YOU ought to be sooooooo proud...of taking it...thanx sooo much..verena
I can't believe all these beautiful bird pictures of such lovely creatures I would not otherwise get to view up so close without a pair of binoculars. This one is exceptional.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

What a cute bird, all puffed up and straight on his branch! I love the silver tones. The clarity and DOF on this are outstanding. Fabulous capture and + faves. :)
