Another terrific shot, Gerry! The woodpecker is beautiful. The background shows him in his element with the branches and blue sky. Great!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

The intense blue background is a perfect foil for this beautiful bird.
Another super duper offering Gerry.

Hi Gerry, Great Shot again, The bird is beautiful and the capture is great, It looks like he is hovering next to the tree because he is not holding himself on the tree with his legs but only with his beak!
Very well done!

Do I get a prize for spotting that 'he' is a 'she';o) Did she get into trouble getting her beak stuck and swinging to get it free?;ŽO A superb close-up capture and worthy of a place on my desktop.
Cheers,
Steve.

Hi All, if you see my initials on you latest upload you will know that I have had a good look at your photo, but at the moment, I'm getting over 200 friends a day, and I just cant keep up with you all, sorry, but I will look, but at times I wont be able to make many comments....No trees were killed in the sending of this message.
