This is the second posting of Mourning Dove which I shot Friday..again it was taken on bright sunny day which gives me a fast shutter speed. I used the 70-300 zoom lens set at 220mm. Shutter was set at 1/1000 aperture at f/5 and ISO 400.

You know, gerry, I'm so glad you posted your stats for this pic. I've been fighting for about week now to get a decent bird pic and since I was told that the clearest take I would ever get would be with an ISO of 100 that I should sacrifice everything to keep it there and fiddle with the rest of my settings to get the exposure right.. I'm going to have to show this one to my teacher, if you don't mind. I don't know how in the world you could ever get any clearer than this and the other pigeon pic, that I probably expounded to as well..lol....It IS possible to get a clear pic with a higher ISO setting. Can't argue with success.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Beautiful dove. Never seen one that color. Matter of fact, I rarely see one around here at all. If there are any, they are floating in gumbo.

An exquisite capture of this gorgeous dove. There are a lot of doves where I live, but none like this one. His feathers are beautifully coloured and he is looking good on that well used branch. Pretty blurred background is fine for this fella. Excellent image Gerry, and a keeper :*))
