This is a shot of a Green-Back Heron taken at pond in Nature Preserve. I posted a picture of same bird awhile back and titiled it Green Heron..the right name is Green-Back. They do have some green in their back...used Nikon D50 with Tamron 70-300 lens set at 280mm shutter 1/20 aperture f/22 ISO 200 and used tripod with remote.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I have never seen a Green Back heron in person but your photo makes me want to. The colors and composition of this picture makes it great. I love it.
