I am afraid I have been looking at some older pictures that I have taken. This is a capture of the sunrise over the Canard River located outside of city in county and flows down into Detroit River. The mist is rising from te water. This river has a lot of swamp area and is filled with Egrets, Herons, Geese and Duck.

Stunning, Gerry. I love the color of the sky and how it is reflected in the water. Great work.

That’s beautifully done Gerald, it’s more like a painting than a photo.

Excellent Gerry. It always amazes me some of the different colors the fog and sun produce. Looks like some ice on the water as well. Breathtaking.

I'm very picky about photography and the last time I gave a photo a 10 in the Caedes voting booth was back in spring of '07. I'll have to revise that since I just gave this one a 10. It is so surreal I had to enlarge it to se if it had been enhanced at all. It isn't the clearest shot I've seen on Caedes, probably because of the low light, and I don't think that heavy gray border is doing the job, but, I'm judging the photo on its merits alone. In terms of appearance, it evokes comparisons with the work of European renaissance painters. In emotion, a sense of a fresh new day beginning, full of promise. While in the voting booth, I try to give the submissions the benefit of the doubt. There are some fine images in there, scattered loosely amongst a lot of marginal shots. It's fairly easy to move swiftly through the booth but this one gave me pause. We seldom find ourselves lucky enough to be witness to the unique beauty of nature and you did a fine job with it. Ignore the c-index; it means nothing in this case.
