Took this picture of this young Great Egret saturday morning at creek in Nature Preserve...same morning when I seen Green Heron. He/she was walking here above bank of creek and eventually got back in water and continued fishing. This bird does have it's beautiful Spring breeding plumage which was a detriment to them over a hundred years ago when they were hunted exclusively for this plumage which was used in hats.

I love the bird and her shadow is pretty neat too. You appear to be quite close to her.

Gerry did you make an appointment with this Great Egret to make a capture of her?, lol. Even if you have used a telelens, it's amazing to me how close you could approach her. Really wonderful!

I Regret to say the Egret must not touch down in Missouri. Wouldn't do any good because EJ and you have a corner on the good photo market. This is but another example. Good work Gerry.

Super contrast in this shot of the egret. The white against the green background is very good. They sure are fantastic looking birds, and I hope I can get a shot of one this year., at the refuge. Great work, Gerry.
