I don't actually know the name of this thorny wild plant, but I was struck by the colour of it's flowering seed pods. The wind was gently swaying it when I took this shot, & as you can see several pods are just waiting to get airborne.

If anyone can identify it for me I'll be grateful as it'll save me a lot of time looking it up. :o)

As for a music link this evening I fancy something classy how about a bit of Sheryl Crow ? :o)

Ask your Congressmen and Senators why our existing wells aren't pumping more than 3 days a month? There a lot of unused capacity in existing wells.

Thank you to Chris / .Plinius it is indeed Fullers Teasel, & was a useful tool to the cloth trade of olde. It's also a favourite source of winter food for the colourful Goldfich. :o)

Such an appropriate choice of music Sandi.
The pretty flower of a thistle with its prickly thorns , & the pretty flower of a Lemon tree that contains a bitter fruit.

As everyone else has said, but i though i would put my two cents worth in...it is a thistle and im pretty sure its a scottish thistle at that :) I love seeing these pretty purple flowers in the summertime and your title is great!
