Although the windows themselves might be newer--and the curtains definitely are in all likelihood--the window casings are original in this house built in the 1600s. Auxierre, France; September, 2009.
Although their use is lesser now, the lace curtains can still be seen in the windows of many other countries in Europe. Combined with the antique window casings, you've achieved a characteristic mood for this composition, Ted!
