The Buddha Bar and its denizens on a corner in Chinatown, a vibrant and colorful part of the city. Or should I say The City (as it likes to call itself) ? San Francisco, California, USA.
I like this night capture, I have been there many times when I lived out there, relatives would come to visit, and a tour of Chinatown was a must. tigs=^..^=
Excellent low light capture, Ted, with no appreciable noise to be seen. With the inclusion of the guy sitting inside (who must have been just sitting still, obediently listening to his girlfriend rant about work) it's a nice "slice of life" shot. Having designed and built a few specialty bars and shops in my younger days, I'm intrigued by that unique entrance to this place. I'm guessing the actual door is a standard rectangle but, since it's dark, this curving sculpted (plaster, maybe) strip is probably painted white in the light of day but glows light red, like a timid neon, in the light of the sign above it. Cool beans (don't know what that means but my kids always used it for something good).
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
