Thought I'd try my hand at an Ansel Adams-type shot. Grand Tetons mountain range, Grand Tetons National Park, near Jackson Hole, Wyoming, USA.

Great entry for the Wednesday B&W challenge, Ted.

PS: thanks for your PM. I've noticed already that there was a too less range of participating members in the Wednesday B&W challenge.
For that reason I've posted this tutorial and has sent a PM to Lyn. For the latter see Lyn's comment of July 11th, 2017 in this thread. After a break the situation has been improved, but we're dealing now again with this problem.
The by you suggested change may be a (temporary) improvement, but to me Lyn has to stay the coordinating person, because she has proven to have stimulating and coordinating qualities.

This is striking to say the least! So glad to see it in the challenge. I sure appreciate the tutorial that Mr. C. took the time to make. I agree that it would be so nice to see more get involved in the the challenge.

Spectacular scenery and well suited to B & W and I am delighted to add it to the waiting list for Wednesdays BWC additions.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I have looked at a number of Adams' mountain photos, having been in some of these places myself, at the National Archives site, where we can view his originals with very little adjustment having been done to them. To be honest, Ted, to match Adams' images of the Tetons you'd have to drop the focal quality of this photo; his equipment was nowhere as good as what we use today. What set his work apart from that of others is his eye at properly seeing the scene in his mind before he shot the photo. This is something of his you've been able to match quite well.
