During my trip to Paris last weekend, I was lucky enough (after standing in one spot for 8 hours) to be on the barriers lining the Champs Elysees when the riders in this year's Tour de France rode into the city for their 8 laps of the historic Parisian avenue. I was also lucky enough to get a few good photos of the 7-time winner, Lance Armstrong. This was the best shot of the bunch. It was quite an experience to be able to see these amazing athletes in person after watching them on TV for years. I hope you like this shot as much as I do!

Way to go Greg. Not many young men get the opportunities you've experienced this summer. I am very pleased to be following along and appreciate that you've chosen the best of your moments and shots to share with us.

aaargg....
I was hoping this man finaly vanisches out the sport world and media world.
He ruined the "Tour de France" more than anny dope user ever could.
I didnt miss 1 meter sinds 1978. It might be a nice story but this "Tour de france only career" was not nice to look at as a cyclist lover. After Armstrong I got so much more respect for Hinault and Merkxs.

Nice photo !!

Nice shot. Would have liked to seen it alittle tighter in on Lance. Ussually for sports I've heard it is good to try and frame it tight. That can be hard if you are limited equimpent wise though. Other then that this shot is awesome. The colors are good, and its not blurry like i would have expected.

Good shot. This works as an "establishment" shot, showing some of what was going on around him. I too would like to see it tighter, but sometimes we are limited by our equipment. Also the shot seems a bit underexposed to me. Worth bringing it up in Photoshop a bit.

Also interesting to see a different view from Greasle about his achievements.

"What other reason could there be to get up in the morning except to set ourselves free." If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.

Of course, there's that Tiger Woods, who only counts the majors also? It's called putting your name in history and the rest is irrelevant?

Great shot, it's a shame the few idiots here that have to bring up all the doping allegations yet again. To all the idiots out there let me pose just one simple question to you. If you survived the fight of your life against Cancer that required your skull be cut open and operated on, would you risk (for a brief seven year glory) the remainder of your life by taking steroids? Now remember this is a guy with three little kids that wants nothing more than to be there for them.

I love the link to Lance’s “former” masseuse who claims she did this and that and was “secretly” ferrying drugs to people on Lance’s team. Um, she’s trying to sell a book to make millions because she’s nothing more than a masseuse. Talk about being a blood sucking leech trying to milk the spotlight at someone else’s personal expense.

Look you might not like Lance personally because he’s cocky and great. You might not like him because he ONLY focused on winning the Tour De France and ignored the other cycling events, but you know what a lot of people hate the NY Yankees because they win. No one questions the Yankee’s if they don’t play well in April, because they win in October. Well Lance wins in July…now let the man fade away in peace.

I love the way Lance can fall down, get up, and paddle away only to get his chain slip and almost destroy his manhood. Then get going again and destroy the opposition. Al this happened while Ulrich tried to take advantage of this. When Ulrich went of the road a year earlier Lance stopped and waited for him to catch up. What a sportsman!!!
