Took this picture of the tunnel beneath the runways at the Detroit Airport on May 25, 2015. This goes between Terminals A to B & C you have to use this tunnel.
It's really a beautiful long walk with 2 moving sidewalks in each direction. This tunnel has gorgeous dancing lights, on the glass walls & up across the ceiling to music which they keep changing colours. I just loved the green, also took lot of other shots with purples, pinks, reds, yellows and blue.
If you view in full you can see the 5 Escalators going up to Terminal A (Main Terminal), at the far end, 3 are for up traffic & 2 for down traffic. There was hardly anyone down there at the time, so I thought I'd put this into the Current Contest Emptiness, because it was pretty empty.
I'm was near the escalators up to Terminals B & C on my way home from visiting my brother in Winfield Missouri, northwest of St. Louis, Missouri. Decided to turn around and take lots of pictures of the beautiful tunnel.
Only thing I did was use Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 to bring out more detail. Used iPiccy.com> to downsize the image.

What a magical world they have created and well done you for spotting this golden opportunity for a wonderful image. I really like the colours and the perspective.

The tunnel looks like an interesting and very entertaining space - the dancing lights really gives your image good depth and color and the vastness provides a feeling of emptiness - Great capture Pat!!!:-):-):-)!!!

My favorite airport...I've been through there a number of times
I tried to get a shot of these musical colors once, but it was a fail. There's a gorgeous fountain in the upper level I tried to get, also. If you managed to catch an image of that I would really love to see it.
I once asked a flight attendant friend what her favorite U.S. airport was and she said Detroit, siting the ease of getting planes in and out and safety factors. She didn't mention the beauty of the airport! lol But, good to know.

This looks like the Aurora Borealis in the tunnel, Pat. Amazing capture. it also could be The Blob...an old Steve McQueen movie. Either way and any way...it's gorgeous.

Wow! I'm from Detroit, and the airport was something out of a third world country for many years! You used to have to run down that ugly corridor (no moving sidewalks) about a mile to catch your flight! They really must have re-done it since I was there in 2002. Tampa International is one the best rated airports in the country BTW. :) Good luck in the contest!
