Thought this would make a good Challenge entry. I took one of my pictures I captured of the Grand Hotel when we were approaching Machinac Island, Mi on the ferry.

Don't know if you have been there but I go 2 times a year for my annual walk. When you stay at the Grand Hotel it really is like stepping back in time. Use to have to dress in formal wear for dinner.

Used ipiccy.com to make it smaller and change it into a B/W - then used: FotoFlexer to create the framing and wording.

Hope you enjoy the stop over and thank you in advance for your comments.

Have a Great Day, ♥ Skates

This is one fabulous shot, Skates. I've never been to this hotel but I did stay at the Hotel Coronado, where they filmed "Some Like it Hot", in San Diego and the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, where some of "The Shining" was filmed. Love your border work as well as the extreme detail you caught of the hotel itself. Fine work.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Makes a very good one for the challenge Pat. The building stands out so well against the dark trees.

Well taken and a nice place for a hotel, near the water and surrounded by trees
