Decided the first day we were staying at the Chateau Lake Louis I wanted to walk way over towards the glacier at the end of the picture I posted here where the sun is shinning. Well I didn't get all the way but pretty close. It really was hard walking in the deeper snow, oh well.

Captured this shot (2017, 11-23) looking back at the hotel down along the lake. I really loved the colours of the water that wasn't frozen yet and the lovely view. It was so peaceful and refreshing the mountain air. As you can see the day (weather) wasn't the best but had fun walking and taking pictures.

Now for the next 2 days we'll be traveling back towards home, first a 8 hour drive tomorrow to Calgary if the roads are good, then Saturday our flights back home. So don't know how much time I'll have to be on the computer.

Thank You for your time and comments appreciated. Hope you enjoy the view.

Have a great day, ♥ Skates

The hotel is a long way away when you have to walk in deep snow. But the reward was this beautiful photo Pat.

See that there's a lot of work to do, Pat: shoveling! (☺ ☺ ☺ )
Just kidding of course.
A lovely view that makes me to a certain extent shivering (not because of the cold but of its beauty)
A winter wonderland in 'optima forma, my friend!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

At first I thought you had skated on the ice to get to this spot Skates. Thanks for sharing but you can keep the snow and ice.

With the Devils Thumb at your back, this perspective makes it appear as though the Fairmont was the only human habitation there. While I'm certain the developers made it that way on purpose, the Chateau appearing like a jewel on the end of the lake when viewed from the ski lifts to the northeast of this site, a satellite photo of the area shows there's nothing but mountains behind you, on the other side of the Fairmont is a maze of roads leading to businesses geared to visitors (Lagos Italian, anyone?), plus the town of Lake Louise. With these two photos, Pat, you've given us 2/3 of the pristine views of this place--thank you, dear. Did you make it up to the ski resort for the extreme elevated view?

Happy Trails (I know you're having them :)
