Hi everyone, things have been really crazy around here. We have received 12 feet of the white stuff and still it's not over. Boy am I ready for spring. Also my husband had total knee replacement 2 weeks ago and so I've been so busy doing everything including shovelling & snow blowing.
Anyway our daily visitor's for their treats of peanuts that I've taken out of the shells. This is of course Mr. Cardinal and he had just feed Mrs. Cardinal a peanut and is further back into the cedar tree.
Know this is not the best quality, but I was so happy to at least capture him through our sliding glass doors in the dining room. They sure are beautiful but also shy.

I love the snow myself and I'm not sure if you do, maybe you just tolerate it but here in Walnut Creek we have no snow but can get there in 2.5 hours. We have had record snow in Feb but who cares:):):) Thanks for sharing this with us:):)

Pat, I hope that Jack is doing fine after his total knee replacement. From this place, I wish him a soon and complete recovery.
After reading your narrative, to me it's amazing that you still can find the time to feed the cardinals and to capture them.
About the quality of your image: from time to time, we all have to deal with not that optimal photographic conditions. My image is a proof for that. The alternative could be not to capture this scene, but that's in fact not an alternative. In these cases it's better to take this dutch saying for granted: "Het is beter om een vogel in de hand te hebben, dan tien in de lucht." (literally translated: "It's better to keep one bird in the hand rather having ten in the air."), 😁 !
