Hi everyone, thought I'd post a picture and these 2 images I captured in August this summer.

The reason for the title is: Because in August Blue Jays & Cardinals alike loose / molt their head feathers.. So thought this would show you what they look like then. This one I call Baldie but now his head feathers are are grown back.

Thanks for you time and comments most welcomed.

Have A Great Day ♥ Skates</> ♥

I've never seen that. It looks weird being bald. Since moving I've never seen a bluejay. Very interesting.

Pat, I think the saying 'Mother's Prettiest' doesn't apply to Baldie right now.
A fine collage, however, that shows us a natural phenomenon that we don't often witness. Seen and captured perfectly, my friend, 👍 !

Holy Mackinoly, Pat! I have to show this one to my wife and son. This spring he began feeding peanuts to a small group of squirrels, as you show here also a favorite snack of bluejays, and the jays finally found us last month. I had no idea these beautiful and raucous birds seasonally lost their head feathers: now your bird look like me! (a haircut choice;o). A special capture, indeed (incidentally, it*s great to see you posting)
