Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature— the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter. - Rachel Carson:: Peace and happiness to all who venture here, Dwight.

An old woman (nearly 90 years old) who is a dear friend of mine was wondering, recently, what the most beautiful thing in the world was (not counting abstract things such as love or freedom). After pondering the issue a day or so, she concluded light is the most beautiful thing in the world.

This photo illustrates her point! And color, a function of light, must be the next most beautiful thing, I suppose, which your photo also demonstrates.

And you've showcased all this beauty in a composition beautiful in itself. On my desktop right now, for tomorrow.

This is really super. The lighting is so perfect. love the backlighted leaves in the forefront. The suns rays streaming in in the background lights the way out of the wooods for the weary hiker. Beautifully framed and composed. It's a keeper.

Viewing this in thumbnail, the way the light was reflecting off the leaves in the foreground, I truly thought it was a picture of flowers strewn along a forest bed. The light, as everyone has said, certainly adds a huge aspect to this wonderful composition, and the leaves as they are shining, catching the rays, add an element that would not normally be seen, so this was captured at exactly the right moment to show the subtle beauty that was otherwise hidden in this heavily forested scene. Thanks. :)PJ

Hi Dwight my friend, my this is beyond my ability to describe my feelings with meager words, but I will try! Sometimes, an ambience created by an image such as this is just too full of enchantment, of mysterious charm, of all the things that we think of when entering into a scene of this nature, ( a little play on words here, smiling)!! So many elements are commited to eachother and playing musical harmonious beauty with the rythym that cries out "sing with me", and we all do joyfully! Nature has sprinkled the earth, the forest, with flowers everywhere and has flavored them with multi-colors to quicken our heartbeats with pleasure! I hope my words bring satisfaction to myself and to you Dwight, that these might be some of the things you may have though of as well! After all, a photo should convey a story, a thought that the author intended to convey to the viewer!! How did I do! LOL! Fine job of artistry Dwight, Sincerely, Marilyn
