This unusual flower is growing in my garden. Its real name is tricyrtis hirta and it is a hardy perennial, not a bulb. I don't think I've seen one of these on Caedes before. I hope you enjoy it and will let me know what you think.

Well well well, is this gorgeous or what ! I have never seen it before..
The picture is perfectly shot, with a good dark background so that the plant comes out just great.
I can not help to see simularities between this plant and a octopus, or is that just me.
The little things pointing outside of the inner leaves just look like the arms of a octopus.

What a great shot of a Tricyrtis! I have several of these in my patio container garden and they never fail to delight passersby. None of my shots of my plants have ever looked this lovely. Thank you for sharing. This goes right onto my desktop!

Very well done. I flipped it horizontally to help the icons stand out on the black background, and it's a perfect desktop. Thank you. --J

A flower as beautiful as this should have a more beautiful name. This is a great capture, and has gone into my favourites.

There is a very detailed description of how it got its name here http://www.paghat.com/toadlily.html if you are interested. A fascinating bit of reading :)

Of corse I enjoy it. Here in Austria, we say, that somebody has "green hands" when he/she has wonderful flowers like you. So, maybe you also have a green camera?

Hey JoAnn, I have never forgotten about this flower. I saw them for real cheap at Ocean State Job Lot (discount store) today and bought two. I hope they grow and look as wonderful as yours!
