we are overlooking the hanalei valley. the green squares below are taro plants. as you can see the plants range from total newbies to very mature.
thanks so much for your kind comments and suggestionss.
Hi there Jen......neat image. I love the design that the taro plants left for you to photograph! What an interesting pattern they make. The dark green foliage in the foreground and the background make for a great frame as well as the foreboding sky that covers the area. Lovely capture. Thanks for sharing this one with us :~)

Excellent shot Jen and I know exactly where you stood ;) It's interesting to see things at different times of the year. Your capture is perfect with clarity and lush greens and the sky is amazing. Perfection here and thanks for sharing it.
Seeds of contentment bring harvests of peace. Always glad to see visitors at My Gallery and thanks for your continued kind words and constant support. Anita
Jen, this is so well done! Not only is the composition very pleasing but the even lighting and the clouds make this almost moody in a way. The patches of taro plants in the center (?) remind me of rural farmlands - a weird mix of manmade/natural beauty.
The name ChuPat is derived from my nickname Chuck and my wife of 34 years name Patti. Her photography will appear on Caedes as well from time to time. I consider myself an advanced amature not anyway close to being a professional. I have just taken photography more seriously since I have switched to digital. My profession has always been associated with pohtography in one way or another. Any criticism I receive will be well appreciated.

Now that is some pre-planned farming if ever I saw it. Somebody has got it together. Nice view. How much longer are you going to be in Hawaii or have you relocated to there? Love your work coming out of same.

Taking a quick peek at your other submissions, I would put this photo as one of my favorites from you. The sky is amazing, the colors grand and the whole composition extremely enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful Jen! You can see for miles and miles! and I love the way they have planted everything in such an organised way - all the lines almost parallel with each other - it is a good comparison to my Derbyshire photographs and the haphazard lines around fields compared to this photograph - it is a bit like the road systems too! Lovely image - well done! Patti

Jen, You've done a great job with the exposure despite the ominous clouds/low light situation with rich color and detail through the entire compsition. The subject is intersting and even intriguing. Thanks for sharing. anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)
um, and national geographic hasn't come knocking...why? excellent shot. the sky, those clouds, the plantation below...too many good things about this to just pick one :)
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
