since several of you have inquired.......this isn't a manip. it was taken just before sunup with a 16x35mm lens. the only manipulation is cleaning it up. my sensor is so dirty. there is a great deal of dust on it and i'm afraid to mess with it. so.............spots! they keep telling me ways to avoid this but somehow my brain forgets. this ride is over the nile river valley in egypt.

Fantastic image, Jen. They really have that many balloons up all at the same time? Wow! It does make for an exciting shot! I expected more desert so this must be an oasis we see below us, no? Did you manip this in any way or did you use different settings for sharpness in the camera? Did you take this RAW? I guess I am intriged and want to know more. LOL Amazing job on this capture!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

It really is magical. the intense red of he main balloon is stunning and a really breathtaking view.
I may have been tempted to clone out the partial balloon on the right.
Noting can take away from the greatness of this shot though.

Eve said that this was magical, and I have to agree. I'm not sure exactly what it is that's making this work the way it's working, but I am certainly enjoying the outcome.

This is such a fabulous shot although I do agree with Eve about the partial balloon on the right. It is so interesting to see the green farmland where we might think there is only desert.

Jen, that is simply beautiful. Into my favourites it goes.

I had a look at the Magic Horizon site. If you can’t sell this to them for promotional purposes and for decent money, then there is something wrong.

I'm very far behind in my comments due to some recent family issues so please forgive this generic comment. I have viewed this image and found it to be very good. I didn't want to pass it by with out mentioning it's beauty. Thank you for sharing it with us. You have created a very beautiful image and I envy your talent. I hope to view more of your work and give a more personal comment in the near future. Your images are awsome. I want to do that before I die.

Great photo...wow!!

One small suggestion would be to crop the right to lose the balloon part touching the right side of the frame.

I would crop it so the main subject goes off-center. I would crop out all but the main red balloon and the three smaller ones the left. There's also a lot of 'ground clutter' on the right which distracts the eye away from the overall serene green field you see in the rest of the frame.

I wish there were a way in the comments to show virtual 'crop marks'!
