Mexican Hat is in south-central San Juan County, Utah. It is just outside the northern boundary of both the Navajo Nation and Monument Valley. The name "Mexican Hat" comes from a curiously sombrero-shaped, 60-foot (18 m) wide by 12-foot (3.7 m) thick (18.3 x 3.7 m), rock outcropping on the northeast edge of town. thanks for any comments. ENJOY!

Another dandy from your dessert trip WC. I love the red colors of your part of the country. You capture them so well.

Prefer to wear a smaller and lighter (in weight) sombrero Jen, lol.
Another great one in your beautiful series.

Just amazing, Jen! How does it stay there is the question. It reminds me of a stupa. There must be lots of energy in this place. Thanks for all of these wonderful images from your backyard. I love each one.

Great photo Jen! Unique and like the color of the rock. I wonder of an engineer has figured out how long till this falls? It would be interesting to figure out. Maybe we will get lucky and it will defy natural law! lol. Good job! Allen
