Laura, to me it's the flower of an Abelmoschus esculentus, with the common names 'Okra', 'Ladies' fingers' or 'Ochro'.
Anyhow a very fine F² contribution. Enjoy your meal, because the seed pods are edible, 😜 !

Wish you a great weekend as well.

I asked the golfing rabbit and he didn't know what it was, but he said he knew there were women golfers and they were just as dangerous as the men. Maybe more so. :)
Seems SEA has figured it out.
Wonderful Foofy Friday post.

Yes, Cornelius did figure out it is an okra blossom - that plant was at least 7 feet tall and had an abundance of okra on it - thought the blossom was unique, however, okra is one of my least favorite veggies!!!!!!!!!

I don't know flowers...I do know a tulip when I see one:)...my guess would be some variety of hibiscus but likely SEA or Stan may be right...either way, it is a lovely and unique flower and super capture, Laura...have a good one.

Really unusual Laura and it does resemble the form of a hibiscus. Mr. C. hit the nail on the head as usual.
