I was strolling through the garden looking for pictures to take, when I saw a beautiful white flower that had just bloomed. So I got close... "AH!!" a spider just crawled out from inside. I did a little reserch and found the name of it, and actually these spiders are capable of changing color in between white and yellow. They position themselves in flowers, waiting for bees and other insects to come. I wasn't sure if this was a Misumena vatia or just a Misumena, not that it makes that much of a difference... anyway, enjoy!

Wonderful presentation of this fascinating bug. (My kid is going to love it when I show it to him tomorrow. ^_^) These spiders are sooo cool. (Seriously, I dig them.) There are some variants of this species in Sweden too.

Eww... I'm glad you took the picture not me ;) Great focus on the spider, although he's dead-center (I would have put him more on the side)

How interesting the he should be able to change color. Just before reading your introduction, I was thinking how he would look against that yellow back ground in the middle of the flower, and then you gave me the answer !!! Great capture.

What a great capture Jess! Everything here is definitely working for you. The colors are great and I like the very simple black border, it really makes the rest of the image "pop"! Keep up the great work :)

Oooo! The spider almost looks like it's coming out of the picture. Isn't it cool that God put so much detail into the making of these creatures. Did you know that there are certain types of trees that are only polinated by one type of moth. And that there is no reason for the moth to do what it does, other than the fact that if it didn't, the tree would die? God thought out all of those details. Isn't that cool? Anyway, great capture. Keep it up!
