The view looking roughly east from Dyrholaey, the bird sanctuary on Iceland's south coast near to Vik. After a brisk morning/afternoon scouting photo locations, this was one place I knew I'd have to come back to at sunset. A long walk from Vik itself, I nearly ran the last half hour to get here in time for the golden light. The scene was incredible - 20km of black sand stretched out in front, evening mist rolling off the sea ignited by the sun, in the distance blued mountains backed by an imposing glacier. It was nothing less than pure beauty, and one of my favourite memories of the whole three week adventure.
The half hour excersize was certanly worth it, thanks so much for this increadible beautifull image.
