Here is another image from Zion National Park. I love the way these mountains are part red rock and part white. Hope you enjoy.

Jackie: Zions Peak 3 just went into my Favorites folder. The colors are very rich and, being a geologist, I am always pleased to see a photo of this quality showing rock formations in such detail. Good job and high marks.

Gorgeous shot Jackie. You captured this peak perfectly against the blue sky & the detail of the rock is amazing. Somehow I missed Zion's Peak 1 & 2 and I can't imagine why since Utah is one of the most beautiful places I have been to. I viewed the whole series & I love them all, but # 3 is my favorite & is going onto my desktop. An excellent series.

Just beautiful, Jackie. I know you also orchestrated the magnificent sky to go with it. Must have friends in high places.

This is striking. It is gentle in color yet still beautiful The only thing I think it needs is a little sharpening. Also, I would like to know where this is. I can't tell from your title or commentary. Otherwise, good work.

Jackie - Nice shot I have been there many times and I think that it is one of the hottest places on the planet in summer!! (I'm in a smiliar hell-like location now) I agree with PatAndre that it could use a little sharpening to cut through the haze that long distance landscape shots seem to show. Good eye and fine composition. You might want to crop a bit of the foreground to conform to the "rule of thirds" a bit better. It might make the peak stand out a bit more in relation to the other elements in this fine capture.

Was this photo shot from the campground? I have been there myself and I might have some old dia slides of the same mountain. Beautiful area and dito capture!
Thanks for bringing back some good memories!

If you can't find the words, you may as well shoot it...

Nice, The perspective is a great one. that sky is brilliant too! The only slight nit I'd have would be the few closest trees in the forefront of the shot. Wonderful shot nonetheless!
