Nice capture and welcome to the site! I think your photo work helped with the light and contrast, making this shot much more than what it was originally.
Thanks. I wish the lamp had been either gone or on the other side of the wall, but what can you do. Yeah, the photoshop work helped a lot. I don't know why I misspelled Dublin... :)
Nice photo of nothing really. Great!
I love this type of photo, taking a shot of a scene you might just glance at.
Worked out really well :)
Next time rip the lighting off the wall ;)
Don't you just hate it when architechs don't design their buildings the way we want them photographed? I see what you mean about the lamp, but if you hadn't pointed it out, I wouldn't have even thought about it. I agree, I love to see photographs taken of something that a thousand other photographers walked right past without a thought. That's where the artist comes in. Granted, we often do have to touch it up in photoshop, but as I recently read, we're just doing on the computer what used to be done in the darkroom. It's not like you're really cheating, just emphasising the positives and de-emphasising the negatives. Great job.
Next time I will rip the lighting off the wall. Keep in mind that I had already screeched at two old ladies that were having tea to get out of my special shot. I could have went for the lamp, but I think the staff at Dublin Castle had already had their fill of me.
When I saw this, my first thought was that the infamous lamp was positioned perfectly. Even if it doesn't work astetically, this capture forces it to. Complex and captivating!
Another person with the ability to make the ordinary extrordinary !!! Nice shot & I'm sure the 2 little old ladies just thought you were a crazy person & they were happy to leave you alone. As for the lamp, it seems to work for me. Very nice photo....thanx for sharing.
