This is some kind of crabby looking spider. I thought it was kind of cute. I took this on my patio at my hotel in Hawaii. There were spiders everywhere!

like my good old pal 'Stinky Wissle Teats' says in the Ren&Stimpy Happy Happy Joy Joy song.....

'..hmmmmmm the little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly...that's very funny... a fly marring a bumble bee!'

or in this case crabs and spiders... oh and its a lush photo by the way ;)

It was really small. About the size of my index fingernail. I like it's little shell thing, maybe that's it's butt. Thanks for the comments!

Wow, very clear photo of this little creature. Maybe you have discovered a new species! I think I would name him Hermit like the Hermit Crab of course. Very interesting thanks for sharing this.

Wow... I love spiders! They've always been cool.... I wanna see one of those personally now! I guess I'll have to scout those when I next visit Hawaii (which hasn't happened yet) Excellent shot!

I have seen these. They are common in South Florida, and they are very interesting looking. This is a great shot.

I am pretty sure they are called Jewel Spiders, or something like that.... there are many different species, with lots of beautiful colors... not creepy at all, in my opinion. And they eat roaches and mosquitoes and such... I will have to tak some pics of the Golden Orb Weavers that I have all around my house, they are huge...

I don't think they're creepy because of the shell butt. I used to have a tarantula when I was a kid, so I guess I'm used to them. It escaped one time and we never found it. We did find it's molted old shell once. It probably didn't take long for it to die, it's not like we had crickets all over the basement or anything. They are really delicate creatures. Oh, one thing though, Tarantulas look all slow and methodical when they are in their cages, but when they are loose, they can go up the wall and on to the celing in about a split second. I was totally shocked to see little "Hermey" move like that!

This is a very, very cool spider! He looks like he's having his morning drink of water and somehow he even looks grateful for it. I LOVE HIM!
