St. Marys Lake, and lodge by same name across the lake. This is taken from the opposite direction of my St. Marys Lodge posting. In the little wooded area on the hillside just to the left of the lodge we spotted two grizzly bears! Out of camera range, but I was content just to watch through my binocs. There were signs warning about bears in the area & advising to make noise while hiking so not to surprise them. They even sold bells to attach to your walking stick. There have been fatal attacks on humans in the past.

Incredible ... what a grand view of the mountains in comparison to the lodge & buildings. I love how everything is nestled right into the mountain side ... very peaceful looking. Sounds like the bears were interesting to watch also & I am grateful that you were content just watching them through your binoc's. Need to be extra careful around bears & it's great they warned everyone. A splendid capture Dan ... thanks for sharing.

awesome! you can see just how huge those mountains are against the buildings! Wonderful photograph and excellent composition. The plants also create a very good foreground.

Did you buy a new camera? This shot is so clear and very beautiful!

I know that lodge is pretty big, but it is dwarfed by those mountians. What a magnificent scene Dan. Just gorgeous!

That's purty, Gregg. You must have had a ball there. What beautiful mountains. Did you fish in the lake? A very clear capture with perfect natural colors. I really like the foreground vegatation. Gives me the feeling I am hiding behind it, peeping at the lodge. This is a keeper.

Glad you survived the experience to share this great shot with Caedes. It's very nicely composed. Color, contrast and detail are all right on. Like this very much. Very peaceful. This would make a great poster for the wall in front of the dentist's chair... Blessings, anne :-)
