One of the "scenic routes" through the Badlands of South Dakota. I decided to leave the jeep in the shot to provide scale as to size. Even if you don't have time to get out and explore here, just the drive itself is well worth the trip! C):-)

This is just beautiful Dan. Glad you left the jeep in also, really shows us how large these "badlands" are. What does the sign read? "Next stop for gas 400 miles"? LOL. The varying sizes, shapes and colors really make this some beautiful countryside to look at while driving I bet.I'm enjoying it just looking at this photo. I think I'll add this to my favs to put on my "bucket list" of places to visit. Super post my friend. Love it!!

Totally amazing terrain, Dan! Wow! I'm glad you left the jeep. The who place looks so deserted, but you are right about the trip being worth it. This is such a fabulous place to visit judging from your images.

I like the jeep in there - it adds to it and having the perspective is nice, too.

Great shot and the badlands look bad as my grandson would say. I think that means good. That is how I am using it anyway. Great post Mr. Dillon. That jeep wouldn't be Nelly Belle would it? Good post.

Hey Dan, I think I may have driven this same route at one time. I like the various color tones of the rock & how the lighting brought them out. The Jeep adds a nice perspecitve to make this a wonderful image. There seems to be a little loss of detail in some areas, but it's still a fantastic post. I like!

I see the Lion is in rare form.

lol..

I've never seen the So. Dak Badlands before, but I have visited the No. Dak Badlands many times, and the two seem similar in beauty and in stark contrast to the land around them.

I'm not sure what danika saw as to "loss of detail". To me this is an excellent post and composition.

Wow, never been there but from the looks of this one, it's pretty darn breathtakin.

This shot makes me sorry that we missed the Badlands when we were in SD.
