I captured them at full blossom during the same photo session that I shot the photo "Helixes". They were growing beneath some shrubbery and trees so it was quite dark around them.

Thank you guys for the great comments. It was shot 3:15 PM so it's neither late afternoon or early morning, but it was rather shady from the trees and shrubberies around the flowers. Glad you liked the contrast I thought it was mayby a bit too much on the shady side.
