Wow, I just love this shot Klas. Big handshake and pat on the back for a truly excellent image. The depth to this shot is just incredible and the clarity and perspective are perfect;-) Windows>My documents>Pictures>Wallpaper>Cool;-)
Thank you guys for the great response to this shot. I guess it payed off to crawl on my belly in the grass. ^_^ Lucky for me it had been quite dry weather for a while. I have a nother shot that I might submit later on but this one is the better of the two I think.
Thanks Pierre. No, I made no edits besides my usual color and level corrections. I think the unreal feeling comes from a lucky combination between field of depth and perspective. I was like I said above crawling in the grass on my belly. There's no more secret to this shot than that. ^_^
I'm glad you liked it. :) I think some of the depth in the colors come from a slight underexposure of the image. I try that some times and it's proven to work out pretty good under certain circumstances.
This is absolutely stunning. I use film and then scan it. I wish I knew how to get as sharp a scanned image as you get. My film images are much more detailed than my scanned ones. I guess it's all in the technique and you certainly have it. 10 x 10 and in my favorites.
Thank you Michael. :) For the compliment as well as the info. I would shoot with film if I could afford to make all the mistakes one inevitably does... On a good day maybe 10% of my photos are good or near good. That's an ok ratio I think but it's not good economy for me to pay for those about 90% faliures. ^_^
Wow Klas..I don't know how I missed this first time around, but I am glad I found it now! What a classy image! The detail is amazing and the color of the flowers is arresting! I know you got way down to get this angle......good job & kudo's. It is now on my desktop! Thanks :))
Hehe... Careful with the superlatives there. ;) I might believe I'm a good photographer or something... Sure, I did get down on my belly for this shot. This plant is perhaps around 10 cm high. I'm glad it was nice, dry weather that day. The lighting was perfect for a flower-shot that day if I remember it right. Light even overcast (I think one calles it that) with no direct sunlight.
This photo has a great surreal quality to it. I love how the shabby trees in the background bring out the delicate beauty of the flowers. If you're into Photoshop, you could maybe darken the top left corner a bit or clone some trees into it as it's slightly distracting, but other than that it's a perfect shot! Btw, I know what you mean about only getting maybe 10% good shots and 90% useless shots. I'm saving SO much money now that I've gone digital!
