Oh god. Seems you have really started working! I didn't get my hands on a computer in a long time so when I looked that huge list of your new works I couldn't believe my eyes. Since when have you done nice works so fast? For the whole time I have been a member of caedes you have barely uploaded any images. and now this... huh..
Ok.. to the image :P I like the peaceful dark colour and the metal behind. As said it's wallpaperish and works well on a desktop. Water works really well on metal but I just somehow don't like the water in this image. I don't know why... maybe it's because the water looks so randomly spreaded here. You seem to prefer dark images, don't you? Maybe I'll comment the others too when I have more time.
how can water looks so creepy?! lol. do you know what it reminds me of... Terminator II with the bad cop cyborg^^. this is really cool Klas, really like the sharpness and the dark gradation... creepy ambiance, gotta love it^^
Thanks for the comments guys. Yes Mia, I altered the color balance to enhance the blue. I don't usually do this but I thought it looked good. It's to the side of the actual sink but the stainless steel is made as a continuos bench (or how to put it) almost a meter to the left of the actual sink.
Hehe... I was thinking of that kind of thing too Lucy. Bad cop terminator creeping along the floor as liquid metal. I quite liked the lighting conditions that was in my kitchen for this shot. I took a series of shots, aiming at first to capture some mold in a jar that was supposed to be good for some months more... (and call it accelerated decay since I put it out in the warm to grow some more... ^_^ but it quite honestly didn't turn out that great.) Ah, well. I'll do it some other time again...
Janne, you are quite right I lean to the dark side atm. For me the dark is where the light can play. Plus I have a really great screen that actually makes my stuff look ok... ^_^ I have always worked quite fast but I don't do very complex stuff. Most of the work on my better pieces are made in the camera. I lack the skill and time to create cool effects digitally like you and Lucy above does in your work. I have a serious issue with how much time I can use to do creative stuff though atm, and the summer is a slightly better time for me as I'm still a student and thus have less things hanging over me. You are quite right about the water being spread randomly. I shot it in endless variants of angles and maybe had two or three good ones. This one doesn't perhaps have the best configuration of water on it but the lighting was too good to let it go.
Thanks Kayla too for the kind words. It's highly appreciated.
'Bout time I got back to your galleries ... I've missed your work and apologize for the lack of comments in the past. As I have indeed enjoyed your visual offerings. Like this one. :o)
Beautiful deep tones, great dispersion of light and shadows. This works for me as a great DT. Quietly contemplative and excellent for visual acuity of icons et al.
Caveats? Not really, a suggestion more so ... perhaps a slight rotation counter-clockwise? A matter of minor degrees for sure, however, I do believe it would kick up the compositional strength in my eyes and humble opinion.
Well done and +favs for me.
But of course, thanks for sharing a very unique and wonderful image with us.
p.s. Saved to my HDD and hope to see more work from you, time and opportunity permitting.
