Wow this is a beautiful looking photography with great colours and a stunning back drop to this peacock as well. The angle you took the photo from is a 100%.
In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art. ~Rumi~
These are remarkable birds and you were fortunate to get this great display.
I think you can afford to crop closer to the bird (from just under his feet), to remove much of the surrounding stonework and stairs.
I was reading something about composition the other day, inferring that our brains will fill in any missing detail from a picture. So you could crop within the fan of feathers, and we'd still recognize it as a beautiful peacock.
For the contest, you'd then draw more attention to the contrast between the blue of his neck, and the green of his display.
Great shot none the less. I've never been that fortunate to get this kind of 'full-on' display.
This is a fantastic capture of this bird in all its splendour. I have often tried to capture these peacocks with their tail feathers open like this, but they never want to display for me when I have my camera ready. Well done! Fav'd and thank you for sharing! Ann
