Today I took this photo of pine trees and cones that in one of their phases of development look like cotton. I didn't know that until today. Did you? And they make some sound like a quiet cracking.
You have some interesting pine trees. If ours did that I would probably assume some kind of disease or something. Ours just spray yellow dust everywhere and so awful for my sinus. Thanks for bringing yours out to view, Milka.
Very interesting to know that these pine tree cones make a crackling sound - hadn't heard of anything like that before now Milka - Thanks for the info and Great Capture of the pine tree grove!!!!
Milka, a good example that Caedes isn't only a site which provide us with visual art like wallpapers, photographs, illustrations, renders, and so on, but it's also a site where one can always learn something. Also in this case, because the facts stated in the narrative, accompanying your beautiful photograph, are also new to me. It also proves that one is never too old to learn. Thanks for the lesson, 👍 !

I am familiar with the cracking sound but have never seen the cotton thingy ! Pine cones are wonderful fire starters and often crack as they heat as well. To me, the sound of winter :)
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
